About Dot Porter Digital

My name is Dot Porter. During the day, I’m the Curator, Digital Research Services, in the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. At night, I mess around with code. This site is an experiment. It is a place where I will play with toys and see what I can do with them. The intention is to see what I can do, to learn new things, and to have a bit of fun. I hope that the site will be changing constantly as I figure out new approaches and play with new tools. However this blog will always be here, a place where I can document my work and play. The site’s tagline, “development in production”, expresses what I aim to do with this site: to take the thinking and work behind my projects and present them as part of the project. As the site is an experimental development space, I can make no guarantees as to the production value of the work presented here.
